Like all good things, there is a story. Our principal, Cassie, moved around so much when she was growing up, people thought she was an Army brat. She wasn't, but she did move to 5 states and 10 plus houses in 18 years - her family always moved for her father's next job opportunity. She got to meet a lot of great people and see amazing towns across the Midwest. However, one of the few downsides was that her houses always had to be 'move-ready' to her parents, which honestly makes sense when you are moving every couple of years...it just makes life easier. 'Move-ready' for her family looked like 'contractor grade everything,' white walls, and little to no artwork - most often nothing on the walls. In other words, a white box! But, like most people, growing up and moving out of the nest meant that she had the opportunity to spread her wings, break some rules, and add some color, artwork, and anything that created that cozy lived-in feeling. Fast forward, post art school, and a stint in commercial design industry refreshing retail fleets and senior living, there was a yearning to scratch the interior design itch from a personal level. A chaotic space, an empty space, or an uninviting space can wreak havoc on your soul. We at Hello Good Design are obsessed with the therapeutic feeling good design provides - you just feel it in your gut.
