This blank room is absolutely GORGEOUS!

When you enter Granada, you walk directly into our drop zone and living room, and really you kind of walk into a blank room. This room is our TV-less sitting area, we read in here, hangout, and sit and chat with company when they come into town. It has beautiful light in the evenings, and you can see the sunset peak through the giant window. And, honestly the one area we are cool with in this room is our drop zone. This area is at a pretty good point, we have a lovely sideboard and large mirror to check yourself before you leave.
But the rest is just well…here take a look you will know what we mean. It’s really kind of plain, like, plain unflavored Greek yogurt ready to receive vanilla and fruit. Basically, this room needs some spice, some architectural detail, interest, and artwork.
For us, this is what THE LivINg room screams that it needs:
Install Wall to Wall Shelves
Chairs – Not place holder metal dining chairs…
New Throw Pillows
Artwork
Area Rug
Install Bead board on Ceiling
Replace the Carpet
The first four, shelves, chairs, throw pillows, and artwork is our main focus at the moment. We feel like it will make the space feel better overall and will make us want to use the space a little more.

Combining Chris Love Julia's tutorial for wall to wall shelves and the aesthetic of the white shelves, this is the look we are going for.
How are we achieving this look?
Five 2x12x16 Pine Boards
Wood Filler
Self-Leveling Furniture Paint
Wall Paint
55 Wall Brackets - 11 per shelf
P.S. We did a lot of research for brackets, because 2x12's are HEAVY. Here are the exact ones we used. Of course, please do your own research for your space and contact a professional as needed to install these shelve beasts! Happy designing.
